SONOC, a telecommunication solutions provider, has announced a new set of APIs that provide users more granular control over operations support systems and business support systems (OSS/BSS). SONOC is targeting Over-the-Top (OTT) players, Carriers and Service Providers and aims to simplify the process of rolling out new network capabilities.
SONOC views the disconnect between OSS/BSS and the switching systems that operate networks as a fundamental blocker of innovation. Luis Benavente, CEO at SONOC notes that APIs play a vital role in solving these problems:
“Almost every capability on the SONOC Platform can be accessed via API and quickly deployed by IT teams within a telco’s organization. This is about removing the barriers between OSS/BSS and switching platforms and their users. The future really is programmable.”
The company is adding these capabilities to its existing platform which offers anti-fraud solutions, traffic monitoring, analytics, and SBC capabilities.
