Sabre, a provider of travel technology, has announced a new API-powered collection of capabilities that enable developers to build custom airfare shopping integrations. The new “Airline Storefront” joins Sabre’s existing shopping APIsTrack this API and is designed to simplify comparison shopping.

The company describes this new functionality as providing digital shelves on which retailers can display airline offerings, with the intention of simplifying the process of selecting the best option from an increasingly crowded set of travel options. Sabre views this offering as beneficial to airlines and consumers alike, with the announcement noting that:

“For airlines, the new airline storefront supports differentiation and more merchandising opportunities in the indirect channel, with flight search results displaying several product offerings for an individual flight. For travel buyers, it allows for efficient comparison shopping across several flight options and helps travelers choose the offer that is right for them.”

The Airline Storefront was beta tested via an API Pilot Program that including partnerships with Fareportal and OneTravel.com. The functionality is now generally available as a part of the company’s shopping Platform
